Overview:

At Revvity, we are taking the next steps to evolve the traditional manufacturing engineering role.  Our business is driving rapid improvements through line design, automation, materials management and NPI development.  This internship role will provide support to the engineering team and assist with problem solving, lab layout, construction, production support, shipping and distribution. The candidate will gain hands-on experience, team skills, layout skills combined with improving their overall engineering skills being mentored by seasoned engineers with varying backgrounds. This position starts in January 2025 and it is a 6-month COOP for the Sound End Boston manufacturing site.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
•    Assisting the daily tasks of supporting chemistry labs, facilities, shipping, distribution, and packaging groups within the Boston Revvity group.
•    Assisting layout design for existing labs in AutoCAD 
•    Construction assistance using manual and power tools (hand drills or power saws)
•    Assisting basic troubleshooting of dispensing equipment
•    Measuring lab equipment and spaces
•    Improving and documenting equipment, spaces and processes
•    Organizing CAD files
•    Willingness to embrace Lean techniques
•    Assembling or disassembling lab structures such as hoods, storage racks or benches

Basic Qualifications:
 - Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:
  - CAD proficiency (AutoCAD and Solidworks)
 - Willingness to learn Lean methodologies
 - Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
 - Minor programming familiarity
 - Experience and comfort working with power tools
 - Experience with MicroSoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements & Expectations:
 - Ability to lift 45 pounds
 - Ability to work on their feet with minimal breaks for an 8-hour day
 - Reliable transportation to Boston and Hopkinton
