Revvity’s R&D Bioproduction department pioneers advanced expression platforms that enable the manufacturing of next generation biotherapeutics. Our portfolio includes a variety of mammalian cell lines and a transposon-based expression system that accelerates the identification of high-expressing protein recombinant clones. Leveraging our extensive gene editing expertise, we also offer customised cell line engineering services. These technologies support both protein-based therapeutics and viral vector production, addressing the ever-changing needs of the biopharma industry.

Job summary

As a Scientist 2 in the Bioproduction team, you will contribute to generating customer‑facing data and developing customer‑facing protocols that strengthen Revvity’s Bioproduction portfolio, with an initial emphasis on the CHOSOURCE expression platform. The role will also involve the execution and delivery of custom gene editing projects.

This is a lab-based role that requires hands-on experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, plan, analyse and troubleshoot research projects with minimal supervision.  Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse data in context of the wider project.
  • Execute and deliver customer projects according to the project timeline. Follow Standard Operating Procedures and promptly record experiments and project information in the relevant documents.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within the team and across different Revvity teams.
  • Record and maintain up-to-date laboratory lab books, and prepare appropriate documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Communicate data in a clear and concise manner at internal and external meetings.

Essential Competencies & Requirements:

  • Master of Science or PhD in Life Sciences, or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific discipline (Life Sciences, Biochemical Engineering and Chemical Engineering).
  • Extensive cell culture experience with exceptional aseptic technique, combined with strong molecular biology skills including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and ddPCR.
  • Previous experience in gene editing technologies and cell line engineering, and/or experience with leading client projects.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, attention to detail leading to reliable results and a can-do attitude. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment while executing, and delivering on multiple projects.
  • Has scientific curiosity and proactively develops knowledge.
