Job Summary

BioLegend is seeking a motivated individual to join our immunoassay product development and manufacturing within the Biomarker Immunoassay group. The Research Associate will be involved in multiple aspects of the product development process, including designing, initiating, testing, troubleshooting, supporting materials manufacturing, transferring technical instructions, and assisting with product launches.

More specifically, the individual will work with experienced scientists to test new hybridoma clones, qualify raw materials used in immunoassay product manufacturing, and support the development and launch of new immunoassay products.

These immunoassay products enable the simultaneous detection of up to 13 important biomarkers associated with inflammatory diseases, stem cells, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative diseases, providing valuable tools for the biomedical research community.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced biotechnology industry environment. The individual will be expected to manage assigned functions and tasks with strong communication skills and increasing independence after appropriate training.

*We are considering Research Associate candidates at Levels I and II.

Essential Functions

  • Under proper supervision, execute the following development tasks: evaluated antibodies, proteins and screening antibody pairs.

  • Optimize assay conditions, trouble shooting and design relative biological experiments to validate the utility of the new products

  • Document development activity and production records following SOPs and design plans. Develop new products under ISO13485:2016

  • Work with manufacture and QC group to ensure proper production transfer and QC

  • Support manufacturing and QC, assist in trouble-shooting and raw material qualification

  • Assist with customer support by performing trouble-shooting experiments when needed. Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor in a timely manner.

  • Actively participating in lab meetings and present data. Contribute to scientific discussions and collaborations

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • BS in a Biology, Chemistry or other related field

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • 1-year of hands-on experience with immunoassays or other functional assays
  • Working experience in manufacturing or product development setting in compliance with ISO14835 standards
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Enthusiasm, attention to detail, the ability to meet aggressive deadlines, and ability to work effectively with others in a fast paced, highly productive environment.
  • Excellent cross-functional team participation skills.
  • Results and goals oriented.

Work Environment & Physical Demands -Lab
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.

The hourly pay for this position will vary by level, as we are open to considering candidates at Levels I or II depending on experience and qualifications. Each level has a corresponding range that reflects the appropriate scope of responsibilities and expectations. The anticipated hourly range for this role is $23.00–$30.77/hour. ​The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
