The Production Team Lead will supervise the daily operations of the manufacturing floor, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining quality standards and compliance with industry regulations e.g., GMP, ISO 13485. This role involves leading a team of production staff, coordinating with various departments, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity in completing the manufacturing plan.

Role Description:

Overall responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead a team of manufacturing technicians and operators.

  • Work closely with the Production Supervisor to provide training, guidance, and support to team members.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and constructive performance feedback.

Production Management:

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules are met.

  • Monitor and manage production workflows, identifying and addressing any bottlenecks or issues.

  • Ensure all production activities are carried out in compliance with SOPs, GMP, and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, and warehouse management teams to ensure the availability of materials and components.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any non-conformances and implement corrective actions.

Additional deliverables for the role are:

Process Improvement:

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects.

  • Document and implement best practices and standard operating procedures.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

  • Responsible for updating COSHH and risk assessments.

Role Requirements:

Technical skills and abilities

  • Pharmaceutical, Medical device or diagnostics industry experience desirable.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.

  • Familiarity with Quality System Requirements including ISO and cGMP.

  • Strong technical skills and IT skills. Proficiency in using manufacturing software and ERP systems.
