At Revvity, we're not just improving lives—we're protecting them too! We're looking for a detail-oriented Associate Health Physicist to join our Boston team and help maintain our commitment to safety and compliance.
Position Overview:
As our Associate Health Physicist, you'll play a crucial role in our Radiation Protection Program, ensuring the safety of our team members, protecting our environment, and keeping us in full compliance with MA Department of Public Health regulations and the radioactive materials license issued by the MDPH for the Boston site. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of advancing science that matters. This position requires onsite presence five days a week at our South End Boston location.
Responsibilities:
- Perform radiation surveys in restricted and unrestricted areas using radiation/contamination instrumentation and associated equipment;
- Conduct periodic audits and assessments, including identification of ancillary hazards, remediation of hazards, and survey documentation for radiological conditions;
- Participate in emergency training and respond to site radiological emergencies
- Prepare data for evaluating radiological investigations
- Maintain/calibrate portable and fixed radiological monitoring equipment
- Perform daily effluent monitoring, bioassay processing and other routine Radiation Protection tasks
- Provide technical recommendations to site managers and employees to minimize radiation hazards.
- Prepare evaluations and reports of RP program data as requested. Evaluate radiological hazards and requirements for the conduct of routine and non-routine operations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology or related discipline, a minimum of 4 years of technical experience working in a Radiation Safety program; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, a minimum of 1 year of applicable experience in Health Physics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of radiation protection concepts
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- May be necessary to spend several hours per day on feet in a laboratory environment.
