Product Portfolio
Revvity’s Dharmacon™ Reagents contain a full set of tools for the research of genes and their function. Technologies include synthetic and lentiviral CRISPR based products, siRNA, shRNA, cDNA/ORFs available as single-gene targeting reagents or collections (libraries) of reagents designed for screening in an Arrayed or Pooled format. Additionally, the Dharmacon catalog includes custom synthesized RNA and DNA oligonucleotides according to customer needs.
Job Summary
The Field Application Scientist will work alongside the field sales team to promote and support the Dharmacon™ Reagent portfolio in the US and Canada. Success will be achieved by providing valuable applications support and guidance from the earliest stages of the customer journey and identifying solutions that enable our customers to be successful. Onsite customer visits within the US, in conjunction with the key account managers from the Dharmacon™ field sales team, will be a primary area of focus. Priority activities will include consultative discussions with new and existing customers, providing technical presentations on product offerings to key stakeholders within accounts and offering post-sales support, as needed.
An ideal candidate demonstrates excellent technical competency with cellular and molecular biology tools and methods, along with a customer-focused mindset and desire to build lasting relationships within accounts. The candidate will also thrive on collaboration and teamwork, as they will work daily with the field sales team to drive growth across the territory.
Job Responsibilities
- Support Revvity’s Dharmacon™ Reagents portfolio in the US and Canada.
- Support customer adoption of Revvity’s Dharmacon™ portfolio, including CRISPR-based products, siRNA, shRNA, cDNA/ORFs, screening libraries custom synthesized RNA and DNA oligonucleotides by offering customers a direct connection to an expert resource in the field.
- Provide pre-sales support of the commercial field team, through consultative discussions with customers, technical presentations and attendance and/or presenting at conferences, poster sessions and seminars.
- Work at a scientific level with customers to maximize their experimental quality and robustness.
- Assist sales team in closing large and influential opportunities.
- Support the inside sales and lead development teams by offering application support to customers engaged via the inside channel, as well as offering guidance on customer messaging which will enhance lead generation.
- Provide product training to the sales team as new features/functionality become available for designated products and domain specialties.
- Collect customer feedback (VoC) on product performance, market trends and areas of potential product development to ensure we continue to provide high-quality, high-impact solutions which are differentiated through value as perceived by our customers.
- Present a professional image at all times to customers, clients and other vendors.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology or a related discipline AND 3+ years of relevant work experience- must include work in a laboratory setting, but can also combine experience in R&D, Technical Sales/Support or Product Management.
- Demonstrated understanding of the supported products and application areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree (MS, PhD) in Molecular Biology or a related discipline and 2+ years working in an Applications/Technical Sales or Support role in the life science industry.
- Experience directly working with reagents in the functional genomics space (CRISPR, siRNA, viral products, etc).
Required Skills
- Strong teaching skills, clear communication ability, capacity to effectively provide consultation.
- Proven ability and willingness to present in front of large groups is required.
- Passion to stay current with new technologies and applications in the functional genomics space.
- Willingness for up to 60% overnight travel.
- Ability to function as a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
