This position is onsite in Boston until the office relocates to Hopkinton, MA in August 2026.
Summary:
Key member of the operation staff who will provide first line supervision to a team of planners and buyers in the development and management of the production schedule for the manufacturing of reagents, chemicals and consumables. Assures that inventory, scrap, and customer service level needs are balanced in a way that helps the site meet their financial goals and contributes to the operations and overall business strategies.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning and managing of the site production schedules
Assure that planners and buyers are utilizing SAP and SAP/APO to develop near-term and long-term production plans
Assure that direct reports are maintaining forecasts and appropriate stocking levels to meet site goals
Oversee the proper use of SAP and SAP upgrades. Continue to look at other system functionality to see if improvements can be made to current processes
Work and communicate with Product management to get forecasts, support and recommend business decisions
Interact with lab managers to ensure that the schedules and services the Materials group provides meet their needs and capacity and that good communication is ongoing with their planners. Help them generate reports from SAP for CI projects
Utilize the document control system to author, review, and improve documents
Supervise or assist with training of employees.
Analyze and resolve technical problems with SAP and help planners and buyers resolve issues
Responsible for the setting, communication, meeting and reporting of all applicable operational goals (i.e. Inventory, MOR and scrap metrics)
Evaluate and guide employees’ performance and development. Recommend promotions, transfers, raises, personal development opportunities, and disciplinary actions
Help transfer products from R&D and other facilities when needed following the product development and product introduction processes
Use site resources to contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing and laboratory processes

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
8+ years of material and production planning experience
5+ years of direct staff management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
APICS certification or courses a plus
Good understanding of site financials and ability to understand P&L numbers
Ability to read, analyze and interpret data from ERP system or other data systems. Ability to effectively present information, and respond to inquiries from management, suppliers, customers and the general operations group.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Knowledge of P&L statements and financials
Highly skilled in current ERP system
Knowledge of organizational principles, inventory control systems, and efficient manufacturing processes such as 5S, lean manufacturing, and six sigma a plus
Highly skilled in the use of excel, creating Pivot tables, graphs for data analysis, Power BI
Good interpersonal, leadership written and oral communication skills
Physical Requirements & Expectations:

Compensation Range:
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $94,000 - 130,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
