Revvity's In Vivo Imaging group does incredibly important work supporting research across disease models for cancer, cardiopulmonary, metabolic, and infectious disease. The team is an interdisciplinary group that develops market leading preclinical instrumentation, software, and reagents that drive innovation.
In this role as Senior R&D Engineer, CT Imaging, your primary focus will be on advancing our CT imaging capabilities within our multi-modal imaging platforms, collaborating with experts across different imaging modalities to create integrated solutions.
The Sr R&D Engineer, CT Imaging will lead the development of next-generation CT technologies, from system design to advanced reconstruction algorithms. This role requires expertise in both the hardware and software aspects of CT imaging, with particular emphasis on applying machine learning and AI techniques to enhance image acquisition, reconstruction, and analysis. You will work within a cross-functional team of PhD-level scientists and engineers specializing in various imaging modalities, contributing your CT expertise while collaborating on integrated multi-modal solutions.
This position combines deep technical knowledge of CT principles with innovative application of cutting-edge computational methods. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both independent research capabilities and strong collaborative skills, enabling them to advance CT technology while effectively integrating it with ultrasound, optical, and other imaging approaches.

Responsibilities:
• CT Technology Development. Lead the research and development of advanced CT imaging technologies, including both hardware system design and software analysis algorithms.
• Machine Learning Innovation. Apply and advance machine learning and AI techniques to enhance CT image acquisition, reconstruction, and analysis workflows.
• Multi-modal Integration. Collaborate with experts in ultrasound, optical imaging, and other modalities to develop integrated imaging solutions.
• Algorithm Development. Design and implement novel CT reconstruction and 3D segmentation algorithms that leverage deep learning approaches.
• System Architecture. Contribute to the mechanical and electrical design of CT imaging systems, optimizing for integration with other imaging modalities.
• Research Leadership. Conduct original research, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and represent Revvity at scientific conferences.
• Technical Guidance. Provide CT imaging expertise to cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Project Execution. Drive projects from concept through prototype to product, meeting technical specifications and timeline objectives.
Required Qualifications:
• PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in CT imaging research or product development
• Minimum 5 years’ experience programming in scientific scripting languages (Python, MATLAB)
• Minimum 2 years' experience developing and training AI models using common frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience programming in C/C++/CUDA
Preferred Qualifications:
• Post-doctoral or industry experience in preclinical or medical imaging
• Demonstrated expertise in CT reconstruction algorithms, image processing techniques, and hardware design
• Experience in 3D image segmentation and analysis using both classic and deep learning approaches
• Experience programming with open-source medical image processing and visualization toolkits (e.g. 3D Slicer, VTK, ITK, etc.)
• Experience with GPU-accelerated programming for image reconstruction and post-processing
• Experience with multi-modal imaging integration
• Publication record in CT imaging, medical image analysis, or machine learning applications
• Knowledge of X-ray physics and radiation safety principles
• Familiarity with regulatory / compliance requirements for imaging systems
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or scientists
