Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our out-licensing efforts for viral vector-related technologies. This role is critical in expanding our strategic partnerships and driving revenue growth through the successful licensing of our proprietary technologies.  The role reports to the Commercial Licensing Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing a network with relevant Key Accounts.  Acquiring new customers via telephone and on-site visits
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential partners, including biotech companies, pharmaceutical firms, and academic institutions.
  • Lead negotiations and manage the end-to-end licensing process, including drafting and reviewing of term sheets and licensing agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including R&D, legal, and finance teams, to ensure alignment on licensing strategies and goals.
  • Present and pitch our viral vector technologies to potential partners and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of out-licensed technologies, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Evaluate, and develop the licensing strategy for new out-licensing opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree in the sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development, licensing, or related roles within the biotech, pharmaceutical industry or life science industry.
  • Strong understanding of viral vector technologies and their applications in gene therapy preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful out-licensing deals and strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work in a global environment (daily basis) across time zones of at least +/- 6 hours difference
