  • Design, development, verification and documentation of mechanical parts and assemblies
  • 3D design and 2D drawing with SolidWorks
  • create CAD models, drawings, prototypes, verification testing, and technical documentation
  • Support the technical efforts for new product developments or subsystems
  • Support planning activities, cost estimations and collaborate with project management
  • Support the technical efforts for continuous improvement, sustaining, and manufacturing transfer activities related to new, recent, and well-established products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, product management, quality, field service, sourcing, and manufacturing
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the product line’s technology, application, user experience, manufacturability, and serviceability
  • Contribute and participate in the design of new products
  • Develop and effectively communicate detailed plans, requirements, designs, and verification activities to implement long-term mechanical and/or electrical solutions using proven design methodology
  • Develop test and assembly fixtures and tools; depending on the candidate's background, this may include mechanical, electrical, firmware, and/or GUI design

Expectations:

  • Requires a BS degree in mechanical engineering or physics with min of 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Several years of working experience in the field of mechanical engineering; experience with project work
  • Relevant experience in the field of precision engineering
  • Solid knowledge of SolidWorks (experience with ePDM desirable)
  • Experience with scientific instrumentation
  • High self-motivation for "getting things done"
  • Experience with machining, forming, molding
  • Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Experience developing design specification and test descriptions
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and document project status, results, designs, and tests conducted
  • team player, quick comprehension, and an analytical, structured and systematic approach of working
  • Good communication skills in German and English
