The Senior Applications Scientist provides technical expertise in the programming and integration of liquid handling systems, with a strong understanding of the software, hardware, features, and capabilities of Revvity automation workstations. This expertise is applied toward the development, optimization, validation, and support of automated workflows and pre-programmed applications for laboratory customers. The role involves collaboration with engineers, software developers, biochemists and/or molecular biologists, commercial teams, and customers to design and validate automation solutions that meet customer and market needs.

The role is critical in driving the development and support of global field application specialists & the Revvity sales team. Working with key commercial entities, you will craft automation methods & workflows that will be disseminated globally, allowing Revvity specialist to support internal sales specialists and customers with novel and well annotated automation methods, allowing Revvity to continue to lead the field. Candidate should be detail-oriented, passionate and self-motivated individual who wants to make a difference in the field of innovative, next generation healthcare products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and validate automated liquid handling applications and workflows

  • Design and execute validation studies and generate technical reports

  • Configure and program liquid handling methods and software enhancements

  • Collaborate with engineering and software teams

  • Support new product development testing

  • Troubleshoot workflow and application issues

  • Provide technical training and application support

  • Contribute to application notes and white papers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field

  • 3-5 years of experience with laboratory automation or liquid handling platforms

  • 1-3 years of hands-on liquid handling experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred in Biology, Genomics, Biomedical Engineering or related field

  • PhD considered but not required

  • Experience validating and troubleshooting laboratory workflows

  • Experience with Lua, VBA, VBScript, Python or similar tools

  • Experience with a range of molecular biology techniques including NGS sample preparation, nucleic acid purification, quantification, normalization, PCR/qPCR set up.

  • Laboratory experience with molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or related field with ability to independently follow experimental protocols and interpret/present results in a clear and concise manner.

  • Competency with Microsoft Office software

  • Strong organization and documentation skills

  • Strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements & Expectations:

  • Physically capable of working in a laboratory environment.

  • Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens in a BSL2 laboratory.

  • Travel up to 10-20%

Compensation Range:

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $95,500 - 127,500. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. 

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
