We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join our growing Finance team. In this role, you will partner closely with Accounting Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support key regulatory and statutory requirements across multiple entities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to deepen their accounting expertise, gain exposure to both US GAAP and Local GAAP reporting, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a global organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing general ledger accounting activities under both US GAAP and Local GAAP
- Performing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including: Journal entries Account reconciliations Variance analysis Corporate reporting
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Supporting external and statutory audits and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Preparing Local GAAP annual financial statements and supporting related disclosures.
- Managing local statutory and fiscal reporting obligations, including: VAT returns Intrastat reporting EC List reporting Other local compliance filings
- Analyzing financial results and providing meaningful insights to support business decision-making.
- Identifying accounting issues and researching technical accounting guidance.
- Maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Participating in cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, standardization, and accuracy.
- Supporting the development and enhancement of accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including full-cycle general ledger responsibilities.
- Strong experience with month-end close processes and independent ledger management.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems such as SAP FI, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Well-organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Shared Service Center (SSC) or multinational environment.
- Exposure to both US GAAP and BE/NL GAAP reporting.
- Experience supporting statutory audits and local tax reporting requirements.
- Dutch language would be a plus
- Interest in process improvements, automation, and finance transformation initiatives.
