We are looking for a Desktop Support Analyst who can provide Tier 1 Technical support and problem resolution to service engineers, inside service and customers as requested or required: using e-mail and web tools.
We desire someone who can play an active role in the development, maintenance and implementation of technical documentation, installation protocols, user information services and in-house technical knowledgebase systems.
Key Competencies:
Able to perform Tier 1 troubleshooting to manage and resolve support issues
Provide electronic support for Desktop Software Products
Answer technical support chat line for Desktop Software Informatics Products
Update Support web site with technical information
Must work well in team environment
Weekly case reviews with manager and peers
Metric measurements will include customer satisfaction, work quality and knowledgebase contributions
Superior English literacy and numeracy skills required
Strong verbal and written communication skills required, with customer interaction
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
Self-starter, attention to detail
Flexible to cover US time zone
Basic Qualifications:
1-2 years minimum experience, working in an IT or Software Support role
Demonstrated JavaScript Experience
Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems & Macintosh Operating Systems
Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Cloud based/Web Technology experience
Networking knowledge
Experience with ChemDraw or Competitor Product Software
Fluent English Speaking and Writing with Customer
Preferred Qualifications:
Computer Science or Science Degree
Chemistry, Biology or Science Background preferred
Zendesk Chat or other support platform experience
PowerShell Scripting, Batch/Bulk installs
TypeScript exposure
REST API service exposure
Python skills
Docker/Kubernetes exposure
Virtual machine (VMWare) exposure
Familiarity with JSON/HAR
JIRA or similar bug tracking software
Other Database Knowledge: SQL Server, Access, MySQL
