About you:
You’re a self-starter, driven to understand how and why people use technology so you can help create better ways of working for our users. You interject yourself into the conversation to ask questions that help others clarify any issues, assumptions, and risks. You can put people at ease and are easy to talk to. You are curious and want to help your team answer their toughest questions by learning from others and working together.
You will work across different product teams to provide insights derived from working with our customers. You will also engage in spreading UX concepts across the company alongside the larger UX team. You are passionate about participating in a UX driven culture and welcome new challenges.
What you’ll do:
Within 30 days
- Onboarding – learn about our products and customers
- Provide feedback about your experience and identify any gaps in your onboarding
- Get to know your team and the rest of the organization
- Gain a basic understanding of the problem space
- Build a relationship with the global UX organization
- Engage in research activities towards improving our design system
Beyond 60 days
- Engage with product teams to identify research needs
- Conduct primary (e.g., interviews, user testing, etc.) and secondary research (competitive analysis, literature review, etc.)
- Present your work to product teams, leadership and other stakeholders
- Work closely with designers, product managers and developers to translate research insights into product improvements
Requirements:
- Curiosity, a willingness to try new things and a love of learning
- Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program (BA/BS) or graduate program (Masters'/PhD)
- Located in Ontario, preferably in the GTA or KW area (Toronto or Kitchener-Waterloo)
- Knowledge of primary and secondary research methods
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with others
- Ability to effectively document and present your research work
- Ability to effectively communicate in both written and spoken English
