Overview:

Revvity Omics, a division of Revvity, is a clinical molecular and biochemical laboratory offering a variety of different screening, diagnostic testing options, and biochemical and immunological analysis. From prenatal screening before birth to newborn screening shortly after birth and whole genome sequencing through one's lifetime. Our goal is to provide valuable and insightful information about potential underlying genetic conditions, guiding patients and providers to improved health outcomes.

We are seeking a dedicated Associate Clinical Lab Scientist 1 to join our Pittsburgh state-of-the-art omics laboratory, where you'll begin your career making a meaningful difference in patient care. Working within our biochemical and immunological analysis departments, you'll contribute to our mission of delivering precise diagnostic results that help healthcare providers improve patient outcomes. This role provides an excellent foundation for growth in clinical laboratory science, with hands-on experience in advanced diagnostic methodologies and the chance to directly impact patient health through accurate, reliable testing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs clinical laboratory duties to test patient samples.
  • Prepares specimens for analysis and organizes tests to be performed.
  • Prepares and properly labels reagents required for laboratory testing
  • Conducts analysis of dried blood spots or other human specimens to determine test outcomes.
  • Reviews test results, maintains legible work records, and enters findings into the laboratory information systems.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment’s according to established schedule and procedure
  • Verifies proper instrument function by checking and calibrating lab instruments and documents data.
  • Records on instrument log any repairs, replacement and maintenance performed on laboratory instruments.
  • Abides by laboratory safety policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a physical science such as chemistry, biology, molecular biology or medical technology.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working in a clinical laboratory.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use a keyboard, type, and occasionally stand and move to other parts of the lab.
  • Must have manual dexterity to use lab equipment.
  • Reach above/below the shoulder, bend at the knees and waist.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.

Working Environment

  • Clinical and research lab environment; exposure to blood borne pathogens; must wear protective lab gear including lab coat, gloves and completely closed footwear.
  • Employee may be requested to work shifts other than daylight depending on the needs of the laboratory. Weekend rotation may be required.
  • Travel is not required.
  • Ensure safety, security, and the environment in all aspect of the daily activities, and any potential safety hazards are addressed and corrected immediately.
  • Understand ergonomic relationship between people, equipment and working environment.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $ 41,000.00 - $49,500.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
