At BioLegend (a division of Revvity, Inc.) we develop novel, cutting edge products and offer custom services to help with scientific innovation and discovery. Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, the Facilities Technician II is responsible for the maintenance and repair of facility/campus, laboratory, and automated order fulfillment equipment. Approximately 75% - 90% of tasks performed independently. Self-motivation and a strong sense of integrity are essential. Tasks include traditional facilities maintenance, plus program coordination, project management, QA non-conformance investigations and documentation. It also includes lifecycle maintenance of lab equipment, including installation, validation, troubleshooting, preventive & corrective maintenance, monitoring, and adjustment of lab equipment (e.g. centrifuges, incubators, plate washers, plate readers, shakers, biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, balances, spectrophotometers, autoclaves, vacuum pumps, lyophilizers, and refrigerated equipment). Must coordinate vendors for maintenance and repairs to mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, emergency generators, HVAC, deionized water systems, temperature monitoring systems, compressed air/CO2/vacuum distribution systems, RODI systems, and other building systems. Will rotate on-call assignments within a group of technicians. The technician must understand and enforce EHS standards, including general safety, PPE, industrial, chemical, and biohazard. Excellent writing and administrative skills are required to accurately document various maintenance and QA related records. Must quickly build supportive professional relationships with lab and administrative employees (customers), service providers, and contractors, while conducting daily business in accordance with applicable Quality Program standards and regulatory compliance.

- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair various types of facility, laboratory, and automated order fulfillment equipment. Includes parts sourcing and vendor coordination.
- Prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and repairs in a fast-paced, technical environment.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with, and support coworkers, internal customers, and vendors.
- Coordinate vendors and contractors. Monitor and evaluate work performed. Be accountable for quality, efficiency, cost, and timeline.
- Adhere to rigorous Quality Assurance, EHS, and Preventive Maintenance programs, including quality of work and administrative/computer tasks.
- Utilize strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Actively learn new programs and equipment software.
- Other projects or responsibilities may be required.
Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience
- High School graduate
- Five years of experience in facility maintenance or lab equipment maintenance & repair
- Three years of experience in biotech or related health/medical/manufacturing industry
Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience
- Two years or more combined college and technical school.
- Five years of mechanical/electrical experience that includes facility maintenance, lab equipment installation & repair, automated order fulfillment system, and automated controls.
- Two years of experience in FDA regulated industry.
- Professional certification in a relevant technical trade such as HVAC, control systems, automation, plumbing, fire safety, or electrical.
The base salary range for this full-time non exempt position is $70,000-$83,000 (annualized). This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
