Job Summary
BioLegend is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Quality Control (QC) organization. The Scientist will work closely with the Director of Quality Control as well as senior leaders across QC to optimize testing protocols, troubleshoot product performance, and enhance operational efficiency. The primary focus will be supporting QC testing for both new and existing products, with an emphasis on flow cytometry. Additional responsibilities may include testing applications such as Western blotting and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Additionally, the Scientist will work closely with R&D scientists for the transfer of new products.
This role combines hands‑on laboratory work with cross‑functional communication, training, and support of broader QC team activities. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
Essential Functions

Execute experiments focused on troubleshooting, stability studies, and non-routine QC testing requiring advanced technical judgment
Perform flow cytometry experiments as the primary workflow, serving as a subject matter expert for the team
Independently design and execute experiments for troubleshooting.
Manage and track multiple concurrent long-term and short-term projects, ensuring timely execution of testing time points
Conduct and present statistical analysis using appropriate methodologies
Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings with QC and R&D scientists, cross-functional teams, and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams on quality-related initiatives
Develop and implement comprehensive training plans for new associates, and train new team members in flow cytometry techniques, data analysis, and quality control procedures
Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior scientists
Contribute to continuous improvement of QC processes and methodologies
Other projects or responsibilities may be required.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
Basic Qualifications:
PhD in Life Scienes
3 years of experience working with large multicolor flow cytometry panels
Preferred Qualifications:
Immunology major
Post doctoral experience in industry (> 1 year)
Quality Control background with strict adherence to SOPs
Excellent organization, communication, documentation and problem-solving skills
Proven track record of knowledge of immunological techniques and ability to troubleshoot independently

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $91,000 - $120,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
