Value Stream Buyer II

The Value Stream Buyer position will be responsible for processing Purchasing Requisitions, entering, and maintaining Purchase Orders for lab consumables and MRO requests. This position will also be responsible for resolving invoice issues, operating under ISO 13485 standards including documentation of purchasing functions and monitoring supplier performance. The Value Stream Buyer will be responsible for their dedicated labs and will be assigned subject matter expertise for escalations and volume purchases as it relates to their commodities being managed.

**This position is a Hybrid Role (3 days onsite T/W/TH / 2 days remote M/F)

Essential Functions

  • Maintain the efficient flow of purchase requisitions by reviewing for accuracy, processing purchase orders using Navision ERP System and placing orders.  
  • Monitor Open PO report, perform follow-up to address past due purchase orders, update delivery dates, and ensure on-time delivery and data integrity in ERP system
  • Releasing Blanket Purchase Orders where appropriate for routine purchases
  • Optimize Order and Supplies Inventory Flow: Apply lean principles to maximize efficiency and minimize waste within the value stream raw materials and supplies process.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure that the value stream operates effectively and that any issues are resolved promptly.
  • Effectively communicating requirements with internal customers and suppliers
  • Submit and follow-up on permits required to ship products as needed
  • Act as a liaison between end users and Supplier representatives communicating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Document non-confirming materials and update supplier quality file with QA, obtain RMA’s and process returns to suppliers
  • Work closely with Receiving, Planning, Procurement, end-users, Facilities, Quality and Accounting
  • Resolve invoicing issues and take corrective action to prevent recurrence

  • Reduce costs and evaluate TCO as it relates to the list of commodities being managed
  • Supplier Management and Risk Mitigation
  • Perform other tasks as needed/assigned

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

  • High school and above
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in purchasing roles
  • Knowledgeable of MS Office, Word, PowerPoint and strong Excel (v-lookups) and intermediate math skills
  • 3+ years of related industry experience procuring lab supplies, lab and manufacturing equipment and inventory required
  • Commodity management experience

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Prior experience in life science, biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO13485 required
  • Experience working in a GMP regulated environment preferred
  • Experience working with Sarbanes Oxley requirements strongly preferred
  • CPIM or Supply Chain certification/degree

The annual pay range for this full-time position is $70,000-$75,000/year. his range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. 

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. Occasional exposure to a laboratory and warehouse environment.
