Senior Frontend Developer (ReactJS)

We are looking for new team members to join us in delivering new feature requirements and continuously improving user experience for Signals Notebook. As a frontend developer, you will join our Signals Notebook development team in Shanghai and work closely with the global R&D team to iteratively deliver new product capabilities. 

Signals Notebook is a powerful cloud-native Electronic Laboratory Notebook for multidisciplinary collaboration and scientifically intelligent data management. It has been widely adopted by leading pharmaceutical companies to plan experiments, record data, enable collaboration, and search data for their new drug R&D process. Customers can also integrate other products in our Signals Research ecosystem to analyze their scientific data, accelerating new drug development. 

We are the developers of ChemDraw, the industry-standard chemical drawing software. Over the past 30 years, ChemDraw and our traditional desktop E-Notebook products have accumulated a huge customer base. Born from excellent genes, our cloud-native product Signals Notebook has passed SOC 3 Type 2 audits and ISO27001 certification for consecutive years through the joint efforts of our global team. You have the opportunity to join such an outstanding team to build such an excellent product. 

Desired qualifications:

• Good communication skills in both Chinese and English 
• Excellent continuous learning ability 
• Solid coding foundation and good coding style 
• Proficiency in frontend development technologies, frameworks, and tools such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs 
• Expertise in developing and debugging single-page applications (SPA) based on ReactJS 

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and product managers to create neat, easy-to-use, and nice user experiences for scientific researchers (end users) 
• Work with the global Signals Notebook team within the Scrum framework, improving your understanding of Scrum/Agile and English communication skills, and gaining technical and knowledge sharing from the global team 
• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to deliver new features, improve existing functions, and fix product defects 
• Demonstrate new product features to stakeholders during the review meetings 
• Explore possibilities of applying new technologies in the product with the global R&D teams 

You will expand the following knowledge:

• Popular front-end development tools and frameworks like ReactJS, Redux, Saga, Bootstrap, Sass, Node.js, Vite, Storybook, Playwright, etc. 
• Development processes and code management practices for building large-scale web applications 
• Popular UI/UX design concepts and collaboration tools 
• Domain knowledge in chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical R&D 
• Data processing and visualization technologies
• Web application development and operations based on AWS
• Cloud application performance monitoring and error tracing

Having relevant knowledge will help you get this job and accelerate your onboarding. Lacking some knowledge will not affect your short-term work.
