We are seeking an experienced and motivated R&D Scientist to join our team on a one-year term position. As a key member of the MSMS team, you will play an essential role in developing new products for newborn screening, ensuring the success of feasibility, stability, and verification studies, as well as process characterization and validation studies. You will be actively involved in both hands-on laboratory work and instructing lab technicians and other chemists. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and support various aspects of product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently plan and execute characterization studies, verification tests, test methods, product calibration methods, clinical tests, and stability studies.
  • Document and report on sub-projects in line with established plans and procedures.
  • Manage changes to products through the change proposal system.
  • Develop innovative product development and research methods.
  • Supervise laboratory staff and actively participate in laboratory work.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, other sites, and customers to ensure successful product development.
  • Train other chemists and lab technicians in necessary processes and techniques.
  • Write abstracts and participate in the preparation of scientific publications and patent investigations.
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to stay up-to-date with the latest scientific advancements.

Role Requirements:

  • A degree (MSc, BSc, or PhD) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent education.
  • Proven expertise in MSMS technology and/or IVD product development.
  • Fluent in both English and Finnish with strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Proactive, resourceful, independent, and a strong team player, able to thrive in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Strong background and practical working knowledge in GLP/GMP-level Pharma, Biotech, or Life Science industries.
