Overview:
The Corporate and Consolidations Controller reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer. This critical role will lead the Company’s accounting and financial close functions, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness across all financial operations. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting leader who can quickly build trust and drive compliance to corporate accounting policies and accountability for efficient close processes. This candidate must have experience with consolidations and preparing financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations. The candidate must be confident, strategic and possess effective communication skills to ensure that complex information and concepts are clear and concise for all levels within the organization.
This is a hybrid opportunity with an on-site work schedule Tuesday to Thursday at our headquarters in Waltham, MA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consolidation and Financial Reporting: Oversee period-end close and consolidation process for over 100 legal entities, including the review of consolidating entries, eliminations, and financial analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness. This includes understanding the details, underlying operations and transactions to ensure accurate reporting for all external reporting (earnings materials, 10Qs, and 10Ks) and internal management reporting.
- Corporate and Other Business Controllership: Accountable for the corporate activities and accounting (stock comp, pension plans, intercompany) and any potential acquisitions or divestitures.
- Technical Accounting: Be subject matter expert for revenue recognition and collaborate with Segment Controllers on technical accounting conclusions inclusive of business combinations and significant transactions. Keep abreast of emerging accounting, reporting and disclosure standards. Implement new accounting pronouncements as necessary.
- Standardization: Develop and implement corporate policies and operational procedures to drive standardization, improve internal controls and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting and controllership organizations.
- Strategic Vision: Develop strategies to mitigate potential threats to the company's financial stability and growth.
- Data and Systems Collaboration: Collaborate with the Information Technology Department, Finance Systems and operational leaders to enhance current information systems and future platforms and implementations. This is inclusive of data governance, chart of accounts and internal controls.
- Communication: Promotes proactive and effective communication and coordination across the Finance function, to improve efficiency and achieve objectives.
- Leadership: Serves as a visible and effective ambassador for the Controllership Organization. Demonstrates an elevated level of personal and professional integrity. Sets roles and responsibilities, goals and objectives, timelines and roadmaps. Creates an environment where team members are motivated and successful in a positive team environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics.
- CPA or equivalent required
- Minimum 10 years of accounting work experience
- Experience with SAP, HFM and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in accounting preferred
- Minimum 5 years in Public Accounting
- Tax Accounting Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of tax accounting, including federal, state, and deferred taxes for both corporate entities and subsidiaries and coordination with tax department.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000.00 - $200,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
