Overview:
The Benefits Analyst plays a key role in administering comprehensive health and welfare, retirement, and well-being programs across the US and Canada. This includes overseeing medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage (both short- and long-term), EAP, behavioral health services, and 401(k) plans. This is a fully remote position working primarily in the east coast time zone.
This position demands extensive collaboration both internally and externally while managing intricate administrative workflows. The analyst partners with the Total Rewards Team to develop program enhancement recommendations, conduct benchmarking studies, create employee communications, and coordinate annual renewals and open enrollment periods. Additionally, this role collaborates with HR Business Partners and HR Shared Services to resolve complex employee benefit issues that require specialized attention.
The position combines strategic thinking with operational excellence, requiring someone who can navigate detailed processes while maintaining a big-picture perspective on employee benefits strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works with vendors who provide outsourced health and welfare benefit administration and retirement plan recordkeeping
- Works with insurance carriers to ensure benefits are administered correctly; identifies and works to resolve quality or service issues
- Works closely with Finance, Shared Services, Payroll and HR teams to collaboratively troubleshoot issues and ensure a high level of customer service to employees
- Audits benefit enrollment data in benefits administration, vendor and payroll systems to ensure data accuracy
- Provides information to benefits outsourcer, HR, Payroll, managers and employees regarding new hire enrollment, life events and other general benefit questions
- Performs the annual 401k match true-up process as well as the annual non-discrimination process for the 401(k) Plan and Dependent Care FSA
- Leads the open enrollment configuration and testing process with the benefits administrator, Payroll and vendors
- Responsible for the management of content in employee benefits portal
- Responsible for the upkeep of process documentation
- Reconciles benefit invoices for payment
- Supports and promotes well-being benefits and initiatives
- Participates in benefit integration projects
- Identifies process and program improvements
- May support merger and acquisition and integration projects
- Responds to questions and coordinate services with external providers
- Participates in benchmarking surveys and analysis
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience AND
- A minimum of two years of benefits experience including working with a self-funded medical plan, 401(k) retirement plans and defined benefit plans
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as human resources or business administration.
- Experience working with an outsourced benefit administration partner, Workday and Ceridian Dayforce is highly desirable.
- Ability to collaborate with others and achieve agreed-upon results.
- Ability to organize and document administrative processes that involve other internal departments and external service providers.
- Outstanding analytical and organizational skills, including intermediate to advanced level Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to set priorities while working on multiple projects.
- Understanding of laws related to benefit programs and dedication to plan compliance.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong team orientation and ability to work cross-functionally.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $66,500.00 - $80,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
