Research Associate II - Antibody Development

Job Summary

This person would be responsible for developing monoclonal antibodies in BioLegend derived from immunized animals by performing antigen preparation, host immunization, bleed analysis, cell lysate preparation, and immunoassay screening methods.  Techniques involved in this job include antigen formulation, animal immunization and tissue harvesting, cell culture and antibody analysis using ELISA and Western blot techniques.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare antigens for rodent immunization

  • Animal handling and bleeding

  • Cell culture maintenance

  • Perform antibody detecting techniques such as flow, WB and ELISA

  • Lab database organization and maintenance

  • Assist with lab consumable management

  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science with a discipline in Life Sciences; Cell Biology, Immunology, and Biochemistry preferred

  • 2+ years of experience with mammalian cell culture and cell line maintenance, and lysate preparation

  • 2+ years of experience of ELISAs, Westerns Blots

  • 1+ years of animal handling; injections is a plus

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Basic knowledge of immunology including but not limited to hybridoma development is a plus;

  • Prior experience with aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture is essential

  • Strong organizational, communication and time management skills

  • Must be able to work both independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Candidate should be skilled in MS office applications

  • Rodent handling and injection

The base salary range for this full-time position is$29.00-$33.00/hour. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. 

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
