Job Summary
BioLegend is seeking a motivated individual to join our product development team and support the creation and commercialization of flow cytometry–based multiplex bead immunoassays for targets aligned with our strategic objectives. In this role, you will contribute to the development of new LEGENDplex panels and related single‑reagent products, ensuring timely transfer to Quality Control, Manufacturing, and Sales & Marketing. Success requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, a self‑driven mindset, and the ability to manage assigned tasks independently after training while meeting established timelines.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, growing biotech environment and play a key role in expanding our multiplex immunoassay portfolio.
*We are considering Scientist candidates at Levels II and III.
Essential Functions

Design and conduct research and experiments in feasibility, optimization, and validation for Immunoassay product development
Collaborate with different business functions including Manufacturing, QC, Marketing, Sales and Technical support to support the immunoassay product through its entire life cycle.
Monitor the scientific and industrial trends to propose relevant new product concepts.
Independently conduct necessary troubleshooting, root cause analysis in scientific experiments and process improvement projects.
Complete all documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, DMR Index, project records, and product instructions required for new product launch.
Collaborate with peer team members in a lab environment and provide necessary guidance and technical training to research associates.
Interact with external collaborators and potential customers.

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience
- PhD in Biological Sciences (e.g. biology, biotechnology, immunology, cell biology, biochemistry), or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
5+ years of post-PhD working experience with strong knowledge and hands-on experiences in immunoassay development, especially in relevant multiplex immunoassay format
Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience
3+ years of life science industry experience preferred
Hands-on experience is multiplex immunoassay development strongly preferred
Scientific experience in the filed of immunology and cancer research strongly preferred
Management experiences a plus
Proven track record of completing projects independently
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues efficiently in a team environment
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other relevant productivity software
Excellent written, verbal and inter-personal communication skills

The base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $133,500. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
