Laboratory Intern

Support for EUROHUB Activities

• Assist in the integrated activities of the EUROHub, which encompasses the departments of Clinical Laboratory (EURODiagnostics), Research (EUROInstitute), and Manufacturing Quality Control;

• Learn about and collaborate in the application of regulatory standards, biosafety guidelines, and laboratory accreditation requirements;

• Participate in service, research, and educational projects developed by the EUROHub departments, when requested;

• Contribute new ideas for development, innovation, and the continuous improvement of departmental activities.

Support for Laboratory Analyses

• Assist in performing laboratory tests from the pre-analytical to post-analytical phases, with a focus on Immunology;

• Learn, support, and apply various Immunology techniques such as ELISA, EUROLINE, Immunochromatography, IIFT, Immunoblot, and ChLIA;

• Perform sample serotyping according to established procedures;

• Assist analysts in interpreting results under the supervision of the Laboratory’s Technical Supervisors;

• Support the technical area in validating new parameters and assays, as well as new batches and equipment, when necessary.

Equipment Maintenance and Quality Control

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning according to Work Instructions (WIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory equipment;

• Execute setup, maintenance, and calibration of analytical instruments, ensuring accuracy and reliability, and verify calibrations performed externally;

• Initiate service requests for preventive and corrective maintenance when needed;

• Assist in completing the laboratory’s relevant quality records;

• Contribute to the analysis of Internal and External Quality Control data within the Laboratory Quality Control Program;

• Assist in verification testing and release of slides and production batches from the industrial manufacturing line;

• Complete Quality Management System (QMS) documentation and forms related to departmental activities.

Research and Development

• Assist in processes and projects related to R&D testing at the EUROInstitute;

• Contribute to academic research and the development of diagnostic kits, as requested by the responsible sector;

• Support the documentation and recording of research and test results;

• Participate in technical discussions and project meetings to absorb knowledge;

• Assist in preparing materials and samples for tests and experiments.
