This is a dynamic and diverse role, reporting into the Logistics Team Leader and based onsite at Waterbeach, Cambridge. Daily duties include:

  • Handling a variety of product types, storing and retrieving samples from temperature regulated locations ranging from 4°C to -196°C.

  • Maintaining IATA standards for shipping international shipment.

  • Working directly with logistics partners to ensure business metrics are achieved.

  • Support shipping activities, determining the most appropriate shipment method through detailed knowledge of Horizon’s procedures and determining the most appropriate shipment method through detailed knowledge of Horizon’s procedures

  • Being main point of contact for specific business unit requirements

  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure all internal specifications and regulatory requirements are met.

  • Preparation of air waybills and associated shipment documentation. In line with customer and business unit requirements.

  • Post-shipment dispatch work, including updating and maintaining shipment records to regulatory and HD requirements plus communicating results and issues.

  • Accurately develop and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). To maintain shipping standards for business needs. particularly in line with legislation around IATA, HTA & Import/export rules for life science products.

  • Ensuring completion of duties with minimal errors to support department metrics.

  • Contributing to operational excellence and assisting in the further development of a Lean approach to process flows.

  • Receiving shipments and materials into the building.
